The Beginning

My yarn came in the mail yesterday so I started the scarf last night. I'm using Andean Silk from KnitPicks. This pattern is fun to work and I love how it's turning out so far. Not bad for my first cables project!

I'm really glad to see your scarf in Andean Silk. I am waiting for a shipment from KnitPicks for this yarn in navy blue so that I can make an Irish Hiking set for a relative. The cables are showing so crisply! I hope that I have a bit of leftover yarn to do a little something for me from it (blushing). Keep an eye on my blog for progess!

No one would ever know these are your first cables. They look fantastic! And great color choice.

That looks really nice. I was just thinking that silk would be nice for this scarf, to make it super-soft. Is the Andean 100% silk?

No, the contents are 55% Super Fine Alpaca, 23% Silk, 22% Merino Wool. It still feels super soft, though!
