First ball done

Ok. We went to Lake George and in the car I knit my IHS. I completed my first ball and love the scarf. I can't wait to join the second ball. I was a little nervous about doing a cable because they always scared me but once I did a couple I am a pro.

Knitting as Therapy!

I have decided to move IHS to next on my list of want-to-knits after being given some yummy Angels and Elephants Blue-faced Leicester yarn in the 'Holly Berry' colourway. It is wonderful, and I am really looking forward to getting started - thanks to Peakwool!

Cable Knitter Wanna-be

Hi
I just join the Irish Hiking Scarf Knit-Along. I started on cables with a little dishcloth a few months ago. Then, I gave a try last week to twisted cable socks.
But before I knit myself an Irish Hiking Scarf with my treasured Alpaca Andean wool :-) (attempt and frogging last night : too big needles... bummer) I will try the pattern on a little acrylic purse for my DD.

Thanks again for letting me in. I plan on knitting a few Irish Hiking Scarf as Christmas Gifts.

Have a good day !

My first Irish Hiking Scarf

Thanks for letting me join the SAL.

This is my first attempt at an Irish Hiking Scarf and I am really enjoying it. In the bulky yarn it is a really quick knit. I am using Patons Caressa which is a wool blend, but reasonably soft. I am about halfway.

I also really like the colouring. My DD is eyeing this one off but I suspect it will go to her teacher for Christmas :)

I've only just started knitting again after many years away...there's more knitting on my blog :)

REVERSIBLE IHS Pattern Free

Silver has just created her version of IHS and is offering it free. It's called Palindrome.

I just finished my 2nd IHS! Now there will have to be a 3rd for sure!

2ND Irish Hiking Cap

This is bigger and it is terminated a little bit different. I used US 6 and I had to cast 132 Stitches. I terminated all the way until there were only two stitches on one needle. Will be startting the Scarf Monday. Woo Hoo! I will start The scarf with the same material Monday. Did I say I will start the scarf Monday! 3rd Time is the One!

My first IHS

Well I came home today and found a box on my front porch, yup inside was my yarn that I have been waiting for. I am making two scarves for Christmas presents for both my sons teachers. I choose Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Snickerdoodle for one and Mist for the other. I am going to cast on tonight. I am so excitedor the woman and the other is Mist for a male teacher
